Why is there a white rectangle behind the print?

The Just a Girl Who Loves Cats tee in White, Black, Heather True Royal, and Mustard side by side, showing the white print panel

Short answer: the artwork file has a solid white background, and the printer prints what is in the file. On a White shirt the white background matches the fabric and vanishes. On any other color it prints as a white rectangle behind the cats.

What you actually get

Same cat design on White, Black, Heather True Royal, and Mustard tees, white print panel visible on the three darker colors
The same Just a Girl Who Loves Cats design on four colors. The panel is invisible on White and visible on the rest.

Every color of every design has its own image on the product page, generated by our print partner from the real print file on the real blank color. These are print previews, not photos of finished shirts, but the placement, the panel, and the colors are what gets printed. We do not show a color we do not sell.

How to pick a color

  1. Want no panel at all? Choose White.
  2. Want the panel soft? Natural, Ash, Heather Ice Blue, and Heather Prism Ice Blue are close enough to white that the edge is faint.
  3. Like the sticker look? Black, Navy, Red, and Maroon show a crisp white block with the art inside. Some people prefer it. Just know it is there.

How the printing works

Our print partner uses direct-to-garment (DTG) or direct-to-film (DTF) printing, chosen by the facility that gets your order. Both put ink on the fabric rather than a vinyl layer. On dark shirts the printer lays down a white base first so the colors show, which is also why the panel stays bright.

Will the panel peel or crack?

It is ink, not a patch, so it does not peel. Like any printed tee, it lasts longer if you wash cold, inside out, dry on low, and never iron over the print. Care steps are on every product page.

Why we do not hide it

We could show only the White shirt and let you find out later. We would rather you pick with your eyes open. If a shirt arrives with a print defect, that is on us: see Returns and Refunds.
